The Assistive Technology Center provides assistive technology, equipment and services to individuals with disabilities. While many of the solutions we implement are high-tech in nature, there are also a great many low-tech or no-tech solutions that greatly increase the employment opportunities of individuals with disabilities. Since our inception in 1979, we have helped thousands of individuals successfully utilize assistive or adaptive technology to become more independent on the job, in the home or at school.
Services Available
Our qualified staff provide evaluation, training and technical support.
Evaluation
We meet with you to help determine what type of adaptive technology will help you reach your goals, which might include computer access, job accommodation, home office or school use. We can then direct you to sources for that adaptive equipment.
Training
We make certain that you know how to use your adaptive equipment. Our staff will provide training on our equipment or yours, at one of our locations or at your location. We offer small group and one-on-one sessions in short, manageable time frames to ensure that you learn just what you need to know at your own pace.
Technical Support
We offer a 24-hour technical support telephone line where we answer technical questions free of charge. Any assistive technology user can call 317.466.2013 or 888.466.1314 and ask for the 24-hour help line.
Custom Solution Development
For individuals with various disabilities returning to work, often there is a need for custom software development and associated training. Our technologists are capable of providing screenreader scripting and other custom software development and training statewide.
Team Approach
Our Assistive Technology staff members have the skill and expertise needed to partner with other service areas, and together we deliver a solid team approach in finding help and resources. We offer our clients assistance with augmentative communication, low vision, home modification, autism support and Deaf services. Our Technology Team approach allows us to deliver comprehensive, cost-efficient services to each individual.
Locations
We provide services to people in the workplace, at home, at school and at various locations throughout Indiana. Learn more at eastersealstech.com.
